Glassworks in the Gernitz
1610 – 1630
The glassworks in the Gernitz in the Mottinger district was already operating before 1628 (presumably from around 1610) and is considered the first documentable production site in the interior of the Gföhler Forest. It was managed by leaseholder Tobias Zeller, though its exact location on the Gernitz stream can no longer be precisely determined today due to lack of archaeological finds.
